Isolde filled an unusual role, in the “Sechsämterland-Classic”

26th June 2006

At the weekend, Isolde contested the “Sechsämterland-Classic Rallye”, held in Wunsiedel. But this time, she wasn’t behind the wheel.

As co-driver of the Toyota 2000 GT, the experienced rally driver supported Dr Dietrich Hartmann, head of the media and PR department, on his way to finishing fifth in the respective car category. During the course of the two-day event, competitors had to cope with different challenges. In addition to several ‘allocated time stages’ and a consistency test that had to be completed twice, there also were some orientation tasks to be solved.

One of the Saturday stages even took the drivers from Wunsiedel into the Czech Republic where they enjoyed a break in Marienbad before the final leg took them back to the starting point.

“The rally went well and was a lot of fun,” said Isolde. “It was rather unusual to be a co-driver. However, over the course of my career I have had the opportunity to learn a lot from my co-pilots. It was the perfect preparation for the Silvretta Classic.”

From Thursday, Isolde will be back at the wheel of a rally car. As was the case in 2005, she is going to contest the 2006 edition of the “Silvretta Classic Rallye Montafon”. On the first day of this highlight of the classic-car scene, the field will drive up to the Bieler Höhe (2,032 metres).
