15th May 2006

Last weekend, races three and four of the Toyota Yaris Cup took place at the Lausitzring. Like in Oschersleben, Isolde Holderied was at the race track and supported the participants.

The dominant driver of the second race weekend of the Toyota talent series was Christiaan Frankenhout, as the Dutchman from Team Toyota Kormelink was able to win both races. Frankenhout managed to win the first race on the EuroSpeedway recording a time of 26:09.696 minutes and finished ahead of Dennis Busch (Sartorius Automobile, 26:15.184 minutes) in second and Heiko Hammel (Autohaus Bernhardt, 26:15.633 minutes) in third place.

The top six drivers from race one started the second round of the race weekend in reversed order. Starting in 6 th position, Frankenhout nevertheless succeeded in beating the competition yet again and ended the race with a victory. Dennis Busch (26:14.746 minutes) took 2 nd place once more, while Benedikt Boeckels (AH Rolf Jansen, 26:18.280 minutes), who had been fourth in race one, finished in third position. Boeckels has now climbed to second place in the overall drivers’ standings and was therefore able to give his mother, who visits each race, the perfect mother’s day present.

Toyota brand ambassador Isolde followed the exciting races at the Lausitzring while taking care of the drivers. "This weekend physical fitness paid off," Isolde said afterwards. "After all, cockpit temperatures were around 60 degrees Celsius.”

In addition, a special “Cologne Evening” created a great atmosphere in the Lausitz. Drivers, track personnel and the people in charge all celebrated a successful event together. "It was definitely a good weekend and a lot of fun," Isolde confirmed.
