New Rally series to be staged in Germany 24th November 2005 Next year, a new Rally series is due to revitalise German Rallye sports: the ADAC Rally Masters. Ten race meetings are scheduled. To boost the popularity of rally sports and to inspire young drivers: These are the goals, the German Automobile Club, ADAC, has in mind in establishing a new Rallye series in Germany. In the ADAC Rally Masters, drivers will compete in three categories: A, N and Diesel. In addition, the competition will be staged in various divisions, which will include the ADAC Rally Junior Cup. Entry to this new championship will be possible without the usual obstacles, such as a registration fee. Additionally, a purse of more then €100.000 will attract participants. To keep the costs low, the rally will be staged over two days - preferably at the week-end. The season opener - the ADAC Bayern-Rallye Oberland - will be staged on 10 th and 11 th March 2006. This is also the home rally of Isolde Holderied. "I am thrilled by the launch of this new championship," the successful rally driver said, "In recent years, German Rallye sport has not been at the international level where it belongs. It was time for a new concept which offers young drivers and privateers the opportunity to make a name for themselves. Only by that, can a big fan community be gained. I am really looking forward to the rally masters' kick-off." The provisional schedule at a glance: |
